Here in the Bay Area, there are dozens of senior homes filled with innumerable community members who have invested their time, service, and resources to the life we are able to enjoy in the present. In respect of their efforts, I was honored to serve as leader of the Sole Community Service Team. For the last four years, we’ve visited many local senior homes at least once a month, playing live music and talking to the seniors afterwards in an effort to give them a sense of normalcy and comfort. The joy that I have seen from the elderly led me to realize that meeting people where they are mentally and emotionally can have a huge impact on their day and perhaps life. Anywhere I go, I will always find fulfillment and joy in the bond of community.
